Small Press Creative Cohort by Curious Publishing — self-publishing resources for maringalized artists

  • The Pop-Hop 5002 York Boulevard Los Angeles United States (map)

Join us at the first ever Small Press Creative Cohort meet up by CURIOUS PUBLISHING. At this inaugural event, we will share resources, tips, and provide valuable insight into self-publishing techniques for marginalized artists. All skill and interest levels are invited to discuss self-publishing in an open forum and gain access to CURIOUS PUBLISHING staff as we discuss upcoming funding opportunities. We believe that small press is an invaluable resource in driving forward inclusivity in the arts, and we’re excited to build a safe space for open forum discussion with you all.

All funds go directly to the BIPOC + QUEER PUBLISHING FUND, established to provide grant funding to print artists residing throughout Southern California.

ABOUT CURIOUS PUBLISHING
Grassroots, BIPOC + Womxn founded in the Inland Empire of Southern California.
Curious Publishing is Non-Profit 501(c)3 Organization, and is 100% artist owned and operated since 2017. We tell the stories of artists of all practices who reside throughout San Bernardino, Los Angeles, and the High Desert Communities through one of a kind, small-run artbooks designed and printed in Southern California. We aim to celebrate the rich diaspora of the Inland Empire, Womxn, BIPOC and Queer Artists first and foremost.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER, REBECCA USTRELL
In 2017 after a long period of artistic burn-out, Rebecca Ustrell scrambled to find inspiration amongst her vast collection of printed art materials. Soon thereafter, she was hooked on conceptualizing her own art into small book projects. What was first a functional mechanism used to promote her artwork, soon blossomed into a much larger project which now serves artists all across the Inland Empire, Los Angeles, and beyond. Curious Publishing continues to grow on multi media platforms online and in small-run print projects.
