It's zines to the extremes!

In honor of L.A. Zine Fest, Robey Clark and Adriana Yugovich are tag-teaming to make all your zine-making dreams come true. Give us two Hamiltons and three hours, and you'll be going home with at least one original piece of self-published, underground print work as well as an 11"x17" collaborative poster.

You'll learn a lot in this crash course: we'll cover the basic screen printing process as well as various folding and binding techniques and classic idea-generating strategies. Some of our creations will be contributed to the Zine Fest Library for future zinesters to enjoy forever and ever, amen.

Join us for our weekend residency at For Your Art, featuring a selection of books from the store, including art editions, literature, children's books, zines, and Pop-up books, as well as a streamlined print studio, and a microcosm of the community-driven artist-run space.

Sunday: Live Screenprinting 1 to 4 pm

Pop-Hop's Robey Clark will screenprint from a selection of our designs on your t-shirt. Bring a shirt. Or buy one of ours.

Sunday: Readings 4:30 pm

We welcome some amazing local writers to read from their work, including Teresa Carmody, Dave Cull, Leah Dieterich, Angie Lee, Shauna McKenna, Annie McKenna, Anthony Szpak and more!

Screenprinting: An Introduction

While the basic mechanics of screenprinting are relatively simple, getting a good pull of the squeegee can be a frustrating task for a beginner. How much pressure to apply? How much ink to have in reserve? What kind of spacing between the screen and the substrate?

This introductory course focuses on the fine details of the printing process itself in order to ease students past these initial frustrations which can be discouraging. Bring a t-shirt!
